Patients are familiar with CAT scans or CT scans used in medicine to examine and diagnose conditions deep within the body, but this same computer-aided technology is available to dental patients for a complete analysis of the jaws, TMJ, sinuses and the soft tissues associated with the mouth. These scans have been very helpful for the doctor in the placement of implants by allowing precise visualization of bone anatomy and dimensions. Another helpful area is in numerous different types of pathology associated with the jaws. The great news is this is done at a fraction of the radiation of medical CT scans. Very few offices have this high tech equipment and we are proud to say we do.
